Yama-chan
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I was in Sapporo for the long weekend, enjoying some snow sculptures, frigid weather, and of course Ghengis-Ghengis-Ghengis Khan. This picture has nothing to do with Sapporo or Hokkaido, but it looks cold.I drew it last week, after watching a bizarre trivia show on TV called "Q-sama." A bunch of tv celebrities had to write kanji or were given trivia to solve in a set amount time, which isn't so unusual, but in the latter half of the show, they cut to a dock on a lake. Everyone had to pile onto a giant top floating in the water, one by one, without tipping it over. Of course it tipped and everyone fell into the (what looked like) freezing water, multiple times. I guess that was the comic relief? Anyway, I recognized one of the guys on the show, Yama-chan, who I saw on one of the New Years programs (he was sumo wrestling another dude). Kind of the your trademark stoic dude with glasses, but I dunno, I like his style. Here he is about to step off the floating block onto the top, probably dreading the inevitable.
